Into the Mind of an Event Strategist
November 3 at 11:00 am – 12:00 pm CST

Most event strategists can point to a decision that made a real difference to how their event landed, and it usually isn’t the biggest line item on the budget. It’s the badge that asked a question instead of listing a title. The keynote slot given to an attendee rather than an executive. The ninety minutes left deliberately empty.
In this session, a group of event strategists each present one such decision from their own work. Not a full case study, but a single choice, the thinking that led to it, and what they saw as a result. Devon Montgomery Pasha, CMP, CED, facilitates and closes by drawing out how strategic thinking enters the design process, and what it looks like to apply it on purpose.
Panelists include:
- JT Long, Vice President & Content Director, Smart Meetings
- Anthony Vade, CED, Chief Innovation Officer, Strategy Table Pathways Inc.
- Melissa Torres, Event Producer, International Finance Corporation
- Andrew Peters, Associate Director, Meetings, National Defense Industrial Association
What you’ll take away:
- A working sense of what separates a deliberate design choice from an inherited default
- Real examples of small decisions with outsized effects on how attendees behaved
- A way to identify which decisions on your own program carry the most weight
- Language for explaining design intent to stakeholders focused on logistics
This webinar is eligible for 1.0 CMP clock hour.
